Hi I’m Jacqueline Boone, Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner, and Founder of Blissful Heart.
As a mom of 4 small kids, I know first-hand how hard it is to find (and take) the time to truly care for yourself and your health. I also know how important it is. I have over 14 years of experience in healthcare, and have worked in a variety of different settings including military flight medicine, critical care, advanced heart failure, oncology and hospital medicine.
After becoming a mom, I struggled with my health and my body. Working too many hours, pushing myself too hard, and sacrificing my health to take care of my kids and my household, I ran my health into the ground. I was super stressed, tired to the core, irritable, and taking out my frustrations on the people I loved the most. I had a hard time getting the help and answers I needed from the traditional healthcare system. I felt dismissed and unheard, and I knew there had to be a better way.
Through my own self-healing journey, I became certified in Functional Medicine. I used my education and skills to turn my health around, without being miserable while doing it. I learned how to tune in to my body’s messages, identify her needs, and create a treatment plan that was realistic for me as a busy mom. I have seen the intricate and deep connection of our mental, emotional, energetic and spiritual health with our physical health. We cannot separate these pieces of ourselves, and so we cannot truly heal unless we are addressing health from a truly integrative approach. Now I use what I learned to help others find the support and relief they need and deserve- in a way that is realistic and attainable. I am passionate about finding a way to ensure this kind of integrative, compassionate healthcare is accessible to all. I believe it's time for a revolution in healthcare and in society- in the way we treat and care for one another. Every great dream starts with one small step.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful family, working in my garden, exploring local parks and new restaurants, hanging out with friends, reading, knitting, and listening to music.
